Ther was a thread on this recently actually not that it amatters!
Mine is a Hoover Nextra, eighteen months old and totally fab. Reliable (and at one point I had cloth nappies!), and quiet. I get through 3 loads on an average day and would swear by it. Not childproof as such, but there's not an awful lot they could do witrhout knowing as you have to rpess 'on' for several seconds to start, and you have to reset between loads anyhow.
