SR states a size smaller than equivalent Clarks shoe

thanks Lizs but please may i clarify. SR is a size smaller than Clarks or you need to order SR in a size smaller than Clarks?

DD has a pair of school shoes, SR size 11.5 and a pair of boots, Clarks size 11.5 - which should be the smaller pair?

TIA

Take her to a shop to fit them properly regardless of size/brand. Even within the same brand styles vary & can affect the fit up or down a size/width.

thanks guys. BB - I always do that for school shoes, boots, trainers etc but we have picked out a pair of pumps from M&S for christmas day and I want to get them tomorrow without her. Just trying to gauge which size to buy (will then try them on her at home)

It's a nightmare isn't it how they vary from store to store? I can never buy off the shelf shoes for me & DD's as they have inherited my wide feet, sadly!

But recently I found M&S footgloves, which I love for me as they do a wider fit-hoorah!

Not sure if I can help but SR are a half size bigger than Clarks - regardless of style. Agree that ideally she needs to be fitted but its definitely a half size rather than a full size. If you go to anywhere that stocks both brands, they will measure in Clark fittings - you therefore need to go down a half size if you're trying on SRs - my daughter is currently an 11 in Clarks (properly measured) but is wearing 10.5 SRs.

thanks very much Mandy21.

Startrite are a wider fit than Clarks - we switched to SR when the Clarks fitter we had used for years said the gaps between my daughter's toes were too big and they should be closed up together... Her lovely and slim feet only lack a gap between the third and little toe so perhaps I should have switched earlier - this happened when she was 7 and DS then 10 remembers Mum firmly closing her mouth when he said this and leaving the shop!
But yes I have them fitted and then do an ebay search for that size...
