Any reason for specifically wanting leather look ones, as you can get leather ones just as cheap.

Leather ones last longer & are easier to look after care for, my mum has just brought a brand new leather one & this is the advice she was given when looking at both. They said the leather look ones start looking old & used after 1 yr & need to be prperly cleaned etc but the leather ones can just be wiped over with a dry cloth!

I have a leather (cream) my friend had a black leather look (black) her's looked horrible v poor quality. would go leather everytime, as long as u keep on top of cleaning them they're fab.

(MIL's had her one for about 15 years and it's still going strong)

We have an old-fashioned leather one - cheaper than many of the leather-look ones we saw, and will age better.
I doubt a non-leather sofa would ever smell like a leather one!

If you mean what are the leather-look ones made of, they're made of a form of plastic, often vinyl, and some of them do smell a bit plasticky to start with.

mollycodle · 08/01/2006 19:52

hi can u getanything stop them from smelling of plastic do they stick to u and feel cold

I think the best thing to do would be to go to a sofa showroom and test some out - you'll get a feel for price, style etc as well as practical things like if they stick to you, smell etc.
Happy shopping!
