Has anyone got a cameleon? What do you think of it. Am on the brink of maybe buying one, but would really appreciate advice on whether, really, they're worth it!
Thanks

whats the difference to the old one (some sort of lizard or other creature?) and whats the price difference?

pussycatmomma · 04/01/2006 23:26

i think there are geckos, frogs, bugs (?) and a chameleon. All mega expensive and look a bit strange imo.

busybusybee · 04/01/2006 23:26

Can anyone do a link? for those of us who have no idea what it looks like - pretty please!

misdee · 04/01/2006 23:27

link{http://www.strollandgo.com/stroller/bugaboo/bugaboo-chameleon-stroller.html\here?}

misdee · 04/01/2006 23:30

here?

busybusybee · 04/01/2006 23:34

Ahhhhhhhh thankyou Misdee - FWIW I cannot fathom what is so great that justifies £599 other than the designer factor

meggmoo · 04/01/2006 23:35

I've always loved the framework on those things I guess it's called the chassis isn't it? It looks so easy to push and lightweight.

Then again here speaks the girl with an Xplory so I wouldn't listen to me.

meggmoo · 04/01/2006 23:36

But isn't that the same as a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes or a Birkin bag Busybee? They're still only shoes or a leather hand bag aren't they?

hunkermunker · 04/01/2006 23:37

What's the difference between them all though? They are SO common - can't believe how many people have that much money to spend on a pram!

meggmoo · 04/01/2006 23:39

I can't believe people spend thousands on a handbag

misdee · 04/01/2006 23:40

i dont!! most i;ve spent is 30quid and thats for my current nappy bag. and that was from ebay lol.

meggmoo · 04/01/2006 23:42

£30 Misdee you flash git! {grin]

misdee · 04/01/2006 23:44

i felt guilty as well (most i'd spent before that was 5pounds on one from newly new sale)

pooka · 05/01/2006 09:15

I actually really like the look of them, and the fact that on 2 wheels they can be bumped down steps to train platform more easily, and has a special wheeled board for dd and new ds could lie flat. Local shop doing an offer which includes a maxi-cosi car seat and adaptors. I have cometo the conclusion that no puschair is perfect for all situations - have a tandem which fits both but is like a tank and pretty useless for small shops. Have a maclaren buggy which is fine but ds not very comfortable and can't get a buggy board to fit for dd and hate the slouched seating position of most buggies. Also not keen on three-wheelers and don't like the Phil and Ted's tandem.
I know they're expensive, but I don't buy jewellery, bags or even clothes for myself very often and a pushchair is used every day (can you hear me trying to justify myself ). Have never owned anything remotely chavtastic - tbh that's the only thing putting me off the purchase!

hideous

vickiyumyum · 05/01/2006 09:27

i have been looking at them too. i have always avoided the bugaboo in the past and refused to buy one when pg with ds2 as they were like copying the celebs, but this pg i have become unexplicably drawn towards the cameleon in red, i keep looking at other prams, trying to persuade myself that i can spend the money better elsewhere, but i still keep coming back to it and being such a complete buggyaholic, i am pretty certain that if i don't buy it straight away within a couple of months i will have brought it anyway!

i do think that the gecko would be better in terms of fabric as it is the traditional buggy fabric whereaas the cameleon is fleece, so not sure about durability and weatherproofness if caught in a short shower and you didn't have the raincover. but i think it is the interchangable fabric that is appealling to me, although i am sure ethat i will only ever have the one set as i don't like the mix and match look!!

Bagpuss30 · 05/01/2006 09:52

I like what they do but not what they seem to stand for (chav factor) I think. They are really common now too - I can't usually go shopping in John Lewis anymore without tripping over loads of them . I also think that you could probably buy a normal two in one and put a buggy board on the back to get the same effect at a fraction of the price.

misdee · 05/01/2006 09:55

there wasone i found that was similar to the buggeryboob. hold on, it looked nicer and i think was cheaper as well.
