Has anyone got a cameleon? What do you think of it. Am on the brink of maybe buying one, but would really appreciate advice on whether, really, they're worth it!
Thanks

vickiyumyum · 05/01/2006 14:14

i know it is £11.50 fgs, just think how many you could buy from the pound shop with that!

pooka · 05/01/2006 14:19

But of course it has Misdee - it's the essential baby accessory after all.

Will definately sell vikiyumyum but haven't thought about when TBH honest. It probably won't be for another month or so but you'll probably won't want to wait that long.

rummum · 05/01/2006 21:04

bloody hell...

I thought you all meant a lizard thing... I had to laugh when I saw the link...
And I was wondering why anyone would want one

I actually think a lizard thing would be cheaper ...

JenJam · 06/01/2006 00:42

i agonised over a bugaboo too. but felt too much of a mug-a-boo 1) extortionate cost (although i could so easily have argued myself round as it it does have a nice feel) 2) looks and image a bit too common and where i live a cliche - 'yummy mummy islington' i wanted something a bit more anonymous

so i went for a pramette (my partner is still ashamed of the name...think it's too feminine for him he he). i always get turned off by things that get too 'trendy'

but...if you live in an area where you'll be one of few chameleon owners then why not buy one.

you know you want one.

and have to say my pramette doesn't feel half as nice to push

vickiyumyum · 06/01/2006 09:57

i need buggy by march so a month wouldn't be too bad, just cat me when you are ready to sell if you want to.
thanks Vicki

mumfor1sttime · 06/01/2006 11:56

Check out how much the bid has gone up to now! Shocking!

pooka · 06/01/2006 13:03

I've done it.

Vickyumyum - Will definately get rid of well before then. I've also got the bugaboo cosytoes, umbrella and bag clips and a spare wheel for it. Whereabouts are you as I would prefer whoever bought it to come and collect. CAT me if you want or email me at [email protected].

lilybubble · 08/01/2006 20:09

How suitable are these for older children? I am another strangely drawn to these, have bit of a love/hate relationship with the whole celeb thing, but am v fussy about what i do and don't like in a buggy.

Anyway, am on the lookout for new pushchair for dd who is 2y5m. Off to the States next month, so wondering if i will find one out there at a bargain price.....

misdee · 08/01/2006 20:11

teehee

vickiyumyum · 08/01/2006 20:12

from what i've read and seen of them, i don't think that they will be suitable for a 2.5 yr old. i think that you are lucky if you can get them to last until 2 years old a the seat unit tends to be on the small side.

check out prices here before you go though, as i beleive that makes like maclaren are very expensive in the us comapred to teh uk.

misdee · 08/01/2006 20:13

i think my dd3 would be ok in it at 2.5yrs old, as she ia teeny, but dd2 would've outgrown it at around 18months i think.

Gem13 · 08/01/2006 20:20

misdee - is the seat depth of your I'coo good? I always think children are held in by the bar in the Bugaboo and am wondering if the I'coo is better in this respect.

Aloha · 08/01/2006 20:22

hilarious misdee! hmm...not sure that dear Baz bats for the babymaking team...

only another 600+ to go........

vickiyumyum · 08/01/2006 20:42

pooka - do you mean you brought one?

TuttiFrutti · 09/01/2006 13:40

I've got a bugaboo frog and love it - yes, it was massively expensive, but I think it has been worth it in terms of weight, manoeuvrability and flexibility. It has great suspension like an old-fashioned pram yet folds up really small to go in the boot of the car.

Didn't know about the chav association though!

cupcakes · 31/01/2006 20:00

Dh and I were casually looking at prams today (baby not due till Sept!) and he has fallen in love with the Gecko. It pretty much provides everything we wanted (though more expensive than I think either of us would have liked ). I wanted a carrycot and buggy board options plus the ability to use on the beach or rough ground plus dh likes the versatility - he thinks it'll be the only pushchair we'll need.
With ds (and for dd too) we used a Boogie 3 wheeler (the original XTS) and it was fantastic but ideally I wanted one with a carrycot option. I don't need to use buses where I live - it's just a lot of walking - so that isn't a problem. Also, I gather that the folding problem associations of the frog have been fixed now as the sales girl dismantled it from carrycot fixture in seconds.
Am quite excited about it so very disappointed to see chav associations!
We'd like it in green.
