but they've cocked up on the girls bedding range.

collision · 03/01/2006 22:49

I totally disagree LL and am distressed at some of the clothes they expect me to dress my boys in.

the only things I quite like are the little tank tops that look great with jeans.

i love my boys to pieces but girly clothes are so much nicer!

and I wish they did a decent dinosaur bedroom section.

anyway, what did you like from the catalogue??

laughinglil · 03/01/2006 22:52

all the white linen trousers ! LOVE THEM... !

northerner · 03/01/2006 22:52

Just had a quick look. Love most of it, especially the bold primary colours. Don't like the pastel stuff though.

laughinglil · 03/01/2006 22:55

see I love my ds in light colours think its babyish sometimes I think boys stuff is too grown up for him .. loving the bold colours.. normally everything is so DULL

i would never DREAM of putting my boys in white linen trousers........

........or myself for that matter!!

marthamoo · 03/01/2006 22:59

White linen trousers ? For my boys? Pmsl

laughinglil · 03/01/2006 23:01

OP posts:
laughinglil · 03/01/2006 23:02

sorry did you mean your boys? sorry got a bit defensive there

OP posts:
marthamoo · 03/01/2006 23:02

Well, ds2 had some beige linen shorts last summer - never again - spent hours scrubbing grass stains out of the knees.

marthamoo · 03/01/2006 23:03

I haven't seen the new stuff though as I don't get that wardrobe of a book any more - I just look and order online. May have a peep tomorrow.

collision · 03/01/2006 23:05

Eh????

I just meant that they would only last about a minute in them and they would be constantly in the wash!! Give me navy blue any day!

Same for me. I cannot wear white for more than an hour!

laughinglil · 03/01/2006 23:14

sorry collision didn't mean to go off on one ..thought you was going to tell me that boys in white looks poofy or something (no intention to offend)

OP posts:
collision · 03/01/2006 23:15

no not at all! mine are too scruffy to wear white.

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 23:19

I've just had a look and there seems to be quite a few nice bits and bobs in the boys range this year. Agree that white trousers are incredibly impractical on kids, or anyone for that matter, though

marthamoo · 03/01/2006 23:23

Yes, I just looked too - some nice stuff. But what a lot of pink...for boys. Which is all very well in theory but my two wouldn't wear it under any circumstances.

NomDePlume · 03/01/2006 23:25

Pink is very in for older boys. My DS2 (12)asked for a pink polo shirt for christmas, DS1(13.5) already has one. I see loads of hoodie wearing teen boys in town in pink all the time.

collision · 03/01/2006 23:26

I agree MM. i saw a boy of 4 (who was very 'bling' and had a huge chain and bracelet and spiky hair!!) and he was in a Next pink stripey sweater and he looked awful.

DH would never let the boys wear pink!

marthamoo · 03/01/2006 23:28

My two are only 8 and 4 and are still firmly of the opinion that "pink is yuck and for girls" (that has not come from me, btw).

TeddyRobinson · 03/01/2006 23:47

white linen trousers?!? I think I'll give those a miss!

milward · 03/01/2006 23:50

white trousers - or any kids clothing in white. Just thinking grass stains & chocolate.

swedishmum · 04/01/2006 00:16

Hate next myself. Too many logos for my taste.

laughinglil · 04/01/2006 11:17

I don't really like the t-shirts with next printed all over them either but most of the stuff is perfect for every day wear and tear. sorry but I love the white linen cropped trousers...they go with everything and last year every stain came out of them ... !

OP posts:
vickiyumyum · 04/01/2006 11:35

i quite liked the range of shorts for boys, but thought the t-shirts were the usual naff self! dayglow pink and green, not what i would put my boy in, sorry. for what its worth i think younger boys look lovely in white for a special occassion, but my ds2 is far too scruffy, even brown looks grubby on him after ten minutes.

the older boys clothesare appalling again! back to debenhams and h&m for this year i think, although hope h&m don't go back to the usual, kahki and navy and have some nice unusual clothes again, the younger boys clothes have been fab!
