any good.. we need a sofa bed for the play room, so it will be for occasional use and clambering on by dd (4) and ds (2)...

thinking ikea as it looks simple, not too sofary... however... it comes with a standard 12cm foam matress... is that enough? i know you can get a bigger proper sprung mattress for it (the klassick version! - their spelling not mine! ) but how do you go about storing this??? does it fold up with the bed???

advice please....???

We have an Ikea one which we used as a proper sofa for 4 years, now in the spare bedroom, and is a similar style to this one . The mattress isn't that thick but the base is a separate fold out one - it is like a drawer underneath which pulls forward and up - with springs and the mattress folds away with it. We and guests (including fussy PIL's) have slept on it comfortably.

We bought a LYCKSELE last week as sofa in DS's room and it is remarkable comfy and really simple to use...only makes it to 3/4 double bed though. The mattress wraps over it and down the back so couldn't be simpler.

Santa...we wanted the denim for DS's room but they don't do it in the double. If you have a double I'll swap you for another colour (yet to be purchased due to enormous queue at the special collections bit and bad mooded me)

Auh...was getting exciting that DS would have a trendy sofa cover in denim with pockets. Instead he'll have to have postbox red.

this is the one beding klassik we're thinking of getting but am just confused... (xmas brains!) do you think this 12cm sprung mattress can be folded to become the sofa bed... or do you think the standard mattress is on the sofa bed and that the sprung mattress has to be stored... sorry if i am being completely dim!!!

The 12cm mattress is integral, so the Klassik looks identical to, and folds just like, the Populair, but has the sprung mattress rather than the foam one.

We looked at one of these for the spare room / study but got a single-to-double bed instead as we never really need a sofa in there.
