has anyone used La Redoute?

Thought their catalogue was fab,so went to order some clothes for the kids(ordered too much so none for me this time)only to find I have to wait for 5 weeks for one item and 2 other things are out of stock too.Not impressed but still ordered them.

I only ever order Petit Bateau undies for dd from La Redoute, and find that their deliveries are quite random. You may get your order in several batches, and you may also get it sooner that the five weeks, at least that's my experience.

Umm yeah. Very random deliveries and a lot of stuff waiting a very long time for. Don't bother using them now I'm afraid.

yep we had similar problems. ordered stuff, wasn't in stock, kept saying it would arrive - 6 months later (!) no sign of it. Once they delivered something and just left it on the doorstep so it got stolen - had to complain until they gave me a refund.
ThomCat · 03/11/2003 15:38
Oh - my bits turned up promptly - only one thing out of stock and I don't mind waiting. I wasn't in so delivery person chucked it over my side gate which was great with me - at least I didn't have to queue at post office to collect it. Also the bits I got for Lottie were lovely - kept everything - whoops!!

There stuff is so gorgeous isn't it,so different too. They say it all comes direct from France so maybe thats where the delay comes from.I'll wait and see just how long it takes to come. Thanks folks, looks like it's a bit of a wait for their stuff from the feedback you've given me.

IME the adult clothes are only good for small skinny people with short arms...as I am a large heavy person with long arms you can imagine how they look on me!!!

I ordered a new coat from them (for me) and was told it would take 7 weeks to arrive as they had been overwhelmed by demand for it (actually looking at all the women wearing green/grey/khaki parkas at the moment they might be telling the truth!). In the end, it arrived after about 2 weeks, which wasn't so bad - good quality and it fits well. Are they part of Vertbaudet? My coat came in a Vertbaudet bag.

I was disappointed by the quality of the kids' stuff I ordered from them, and didn't order again.
Eowyn · 03/11/2003 20:14
I've had quite a bit of stuff from them over last year, mostly good but best thing is if you wait for their sale & save quite a bit. Some stuff has taken a few weeks but not too bad, the delivery man here is so friendly I nearly got in trouble, i was rather excited about getting parcels of clothes so when i answered the door he said "how come you're always smiling?" I replied "cos I knew it was you" & after thought, hmm, that didn't come out right. Next time he asked my name, time after that I got dh to answer, didn;t need complications.
Did that help?? Made me smile for a while anyway.
