I am thinking of buying a micro scooter for my DS for christmas. Are they really worth the money? Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy them?

Both my kids have one and they love them. DH and I love them because they are so well made, quiet (they don't rattle like the cheapo aluminium ones), rust proof and kid proof.

We bought DD's last Christmas from John Lewis. I can't remember if this was the cheapest place, but DH does Google the pricing sites to get the best deal, but I think you'll find that these all retail fairly consistently across the market.

If anyone is buying these I just bought one from Jojo Mamen Babe with 10% off voucher code MM82. It worked out at £47 with free delivery. £10 cheaper than most other retailers.

Absolutely brilliant, despite the price. And 16 months on, despite intensive use, both of my older dcs scooters still look great.

Make sure you buy one the right size though - if your ds is 5 you might want to consider getting the 'bigger' one, otherwise he will grow out of it really quickly. The bigger one is adjustable (the small one isnt) so you can bring the handlebars right down.

My son had the small one to begin with and it was used constantly. It made getting anywhere so much faster. He now has the bigger one and even though £90 is a lot of money it is very tough and durable and well worth it.

I think John Lewis were the main supplier - not sure if they still are.....
