Want to get some for the kids, I think. I can spend £200.

Is it any good? Will it last? (ds is 2.4, dd is 6 mo). What is the most basic set I can get away with? Where do I get it?

TIA

both DH and I had it as kids - haven't seen any since, but both of us have very fond memories of it!
Lived permanently out in the garden - fades a bit in the sun but nothing drastic.
Initially my sister and I (5 & 7) used it as a playhouse, then a shop / puppet theatre, then as a climbing tower thing, and eventually as a picnic table / bench until we were about 16.

Seem to remember it being a bit heavy and fiddly to put together (did it by ourselves once we were 11 or so but needed Daddy's help before that).

Don't know how much we had (think it was 2nd hand as we weren't that flush), but it's worth looking carefully at how many tubes / panels there are in each set, and quickly sketching what you can make with each.

Neighbours had it in Switzerland and it certainly is robust enough to stand being out all year round. The main things we found were that if several children were on it (theirs was platform about 3 cubes high and 4 square with slide) it wasn't very stable and they could push the panels out from underneath potentially trapping fingers if stamped back in. The kids using it were aged between 1 and 6.
