Got a MR compact for Christmas. Not sure if it's the same, but it is very nice. Only used it twice so far though.

nutcracker · 30/12/2005 20:45

Instruction book had loads of recipies. I just did what it said, and got bread even my fussy kids liked!

nutcracker · 30/12/2005 20:47

Oh good, sounds like it is just what I need then.

Thanks for that

I even used the timer and got bread when I got up in the morning.

Mine was more than £25, though

nutcracker · 30/12/2005 20:49

That sounds great, waking up to fresh bread.

I got this one for Xmas.
Not used it yet but it was half price in argos a few days ago

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 30/12/2005 21:00

ButI want to know about this one. No one could help me the other day

carlk · 30/12/2005 21:00

Yes we have one, it doesnt have a model name on it.
It works very well and makes beautiful bread.
I bought the Allisons recipe book in Sainsbury's, next to the flour, just after I got it and that has some good stuff too.
The banana bread recipe in the morphy book is to die for

Jasnem · 30/12/2005 21:05

this is mine

nutcracker · 30/12/2005 21:08

I think the one in asda is this one.

forget my link, it's not in the sale anymore.

Jasnem · 30/12/2005 21:11

Ooh, so much choice!

I just went to Argos and bought a cheap one. (I am one of the many who buy their own Christmas pressies.)

Going to try fruit bread and then cake next...

carlk · 30/12/2005 21:26

nutcrackers link is my one but it doesnt have fastbake written on it

merrygoround · 30/12/2005 21:27

Have used the Morphy Richards one since Sept when we got it - not bought bread since. Very pleased, but one problem with the machine is that part of the display has disappeared - the arrows that point to what size loaf you are baking. It is still usable as you just check the time on the display instead - but if I had the energy I would take it back in case anything else goes.

Bagpuss30 · 31/12/2005 11:53

nutcracker, we have one of those. It really is very good but I don't use it as much as I should . I tend to do pizza dough in it and raisin bread for the kids, also the dough setting for bread rolls and have never not had a success with it in nearly 2 years. It is a bargain at £25, I think we paid £40 in John Lewis for ours.

nikkie · 31/12/2005 17:58

I have fast bake one, got it for xmas, haven't used it yet,
I don't quite understand the timer instructions, anyone else explain it? TIA

carlk · 02/01/2006 14:23

nikki the timer shows how long left until the bread is ready
so if it is 10pm and you want fresh bread for breakfast at 7am then you adjust the timer until it says 9 hours IYSWIM

We've had this one for 4 years and even dh can use it, We make all our own bread and rolls and when I'm short of time its brilliant, just throw in the ingredients and leave it to it.
We have had to have 2 new pans, which MR sent free of charge, but I guess on a newer model they would have sorted the problem out.
