My husband is due to be godfather to his niece shortly. Any ideas for an appropriate and special gift?

What about a personalised handcrafted taggie blanket like this one I made ? Easy tutorial if you're any good at the sewing machine?

Not sure what his budget it but I love these. The wind in the willows one is lovely.

traditionally it's silver -locket, small cross for when they are older, christening bangle etc etc

The nicest things my dd got was jewellery for when she is grown up. Silver 'baby' trinkets are outgrown whereas jewellery can be grown into.

I love reading so bought wooden noah's ark bookends from here with a personal plaque on the back. Then every year for her birthday I buy a book ( the penguin hardback classics) to go in them. I also got her a silver small bible which I wrote in.

If your DH has a big interest or hobby or something he'd like to do
With his god child over the years perhaps that might be a starting point for ideas?
