kindle help please

Dh has very kindly bought me a kindle for my birthday today, not having much luck here, i have it attached to my laptop to chrge and on home screen says to cont charging over usb annd read eject from usb but kjeep connected so i have clicke on the safely remove mass storgae buton and it still stayed on that screen on the kindle - also can i buggery find out what my wi fi passowrd is though put in wirelass pass key and it wouldnt accept it grrrrrrrr. Shall i just go to the libraraY?

the light is currently orange and if i pull the plug out it goes to a home screen menu but i want to charge it whilst reading the guff iyswim. Thanks

Might be best just to leave it till its charged although I know that can be hard .

If you can't find your wi-fi password I think you can download books via the cable....

its fully charged now and ihave sussed how to do the thing i was asknig but now i cant get the wifi to work so waiting for it blokey bil to come and sort - its been a frustratign day - i will proabably download and do most using the cable thingy but i cant progree till i have wifi and can register this delightful device i am tempted to smash into a thousand pieces.

oh dear appears the code i had - i was putting in number 6's were actually b's - im up and running now though

Ooo this will be me soon! My birthday in a few weeks and have gotten a kindle! I am being good and waiting until the day to do all the registering!

I just can't decide what sort of cover to get! Have seen a wrap around type with a light on Amazon for £8.99 and I love one of the pouches I have seen, black and white swirly pattern with a pink lining! I may end up with both!! :o

I saw one in tesco like a neoprene one which was reduced to £7 which i was going to get butmy sil has just been with a prezzie for me and it was one of the ecovue leather wallet type thingys off amazon which look like they are £30 . Anyway i have downloaded little women which im currently reading, abd then oither free books i have downloaded as mn recommended are diary of a nobody, the facebook serial killer, scary mary. I have somehow ended up with something in my clipings - how do i delete it and also how di i easily find the meaning of a word i have come across for example???

It isn't very intuitive to use but once you get used to it you'll be fine. The kindle user guide is easy to search and use.

Search: press menu button, scroll down to 'search this book'

To delete use your cursor key: Go to home and underline to highlight the book you want to select. Press the right button on your cursor. You will get the option to 'remove from device'. Using the cursor in this way will also allow you to search, go to, read a summary etc. and is very handy.

To find the meaning of a word: use your cursor key move just before a word. Info will come up at the bottom of the screen.

I have started buying ebooks and can't imagine reading a paper book now. The free classics is how I began to use it.

OMG just came back to say i love it and when i looked in my active convos i havent been here for 6 days - oh and my house is a mess and my eyes ache . I am still readign little women mind and am loving it.
