when the base is installed into the car is that it - do you just click the seat in everytime or do you have to wrap the belt round it?

The long bit of the belt (that would go across our chests) has to be secured as well as that secures the seat.

right i is confused doesn't take alot) so do you fasten the belt as you normally would or does it have to go through loops on the seat

It would go through the loop to hold it in place (I hope I am talking about the right seat - I have just given ours to someone so can't check!)
