DIGITAL BRIDGE CAMERA - recommendations?

I am looking for a decent quality digital bridge camera for my 9y DD's Christmas present.

She has had a digital compact since she was 4y and knows how to use that well, and she makes a decent job of using my DSLR too.

She's 9y now and would love a better camera of her own but she isn't really old enough yet to get her her own DSLR.

I've not used a bridge camera before although a friend has and has had good results wth it.

Can anyone recommend a decent bridge camera?

Thank you.

fuji never lets me down.

And they sell refurbished ones from their website that look like brand new.

Anyone know anything of the FinePix HS10EXR? It's a little dearer I think but seemed to be getting good reviews online, but is it really worth the extra cost?

I've had a lot of fun with my Panasonic Lumix FZ100. Whist it may not be what you're looking for, the range generally seems to get great reviews.
