i use placemats & coasters, we have a dark wood table & it marks easily, i used a table cover up to ds been able to walk around but stopped because it could get pulled off easy.
i dont know if it is correct or not!

No tablecloth - placemats and coasters for hot drinks only.

If you want a 'high socity' answer it is plain table, charger plates, no coasters, no placemats and linen napkins.

Rocker1971 · 29/12/2005 15:10

what are charger plates? posh place mats?

we have a wooden table so for Xmas used a table protector and table cloth - -for everyday we just use placemats and coasters.

coasters are essential for chilled drinks IMHO as condensation forms on the glass and makes a wet ring on the table
