spent about 2 hours fixing the bloody thing together and now it won't work. It won't propel the cars upwards and theres no sound. Batteries are in properly and it's all together flush....arrrrrgh

you need to put batteries in at the top near the head for the sound, have you done that? not just at the bottom for the propulsion.
I don't know whay it won't propel the cars upwards - is the bottom motor working? have you got the right type of cars? (the wrong shape ones get stuck)

I've got all the batteries in and got it making the noise now but it just seems that the motor isn't forceful enough to propel the cars much.
I want to take it back but was wondering if they are all this bad, don't want to disapoint ds a second time.
Will have to make up a story too as it was from santa!

Ds got one........still in box though, he also had the beast swamp one, putting that one together has put me off doing the t'rex one

Definitely sounds like a problem with the bottom unit. Ours is propelling very nicely (but isn't it loud?!).

Mind you it nearly caused tears - I was the one who ha dthe task of putting it together (with the "help" of 2 and 4 yos), only to find that the lst item to be put on was an elastic band - could I find it?

My DS got a hotwheels set - can't remember which one but not the T-rex. Anyway, me and DH almost had a row putting it together on Christmas morning. I had to leave him to it or we would have fallen out seriously! How flaming difficult could they make it? Took about an hour and a half to put together. Ten plastic bags of parts, crap instructions - it was the only thing we didn't assemble the night before. Then the stickers had to go on - another hour. Hotwheels = PITA. And DS hasn't had a chance to play with yet as we've been out all day!
