Help! dd1 got one of these for Christmas, and there are no instructions! I haven't a clue, don't even know whether her hair should be wet or dry. I have put some water in it and it steams if you press on the end, but won't that burn her scalp?

Oh we got those. Hair should be dry, stick water in end and then when you have wrapped the about 1/2 inch thick strand of hair all around it press 3 times and hold for at least 30 secs (but would recommend longer coz dd1's fell out very quickly). Haven't tried it again yet, may put some setting type stuff on first next time. Gawd, its gonna take longer to get her ready than me .

Oops that reads wrong - don't hold button for 30 seconds - leave hair in tongs for that length of time.

Buy Lee stafford heat protector spray or even better if you can, loreal hot curls- it makes the curls stay in for much longer

Great, thanks! We have now successfully tried it, but as you say the curls fall out pretty quickly, so I will be on the lookout for some of that stuff. Wouldn't be hard for it to take longer to get dd1 ready than me.. MIL bought me some makeup remover for Christmas - has she not noticed that the only time I wore makeup was on our wedding day, or is she trying to tell me something?? She also gave me back an olive oil spray thing that I gave HER about 2 or 3 years ago But they're going home tomorrow
