A few years ago I bought a fantastic bed side lamp that you switch on and off simply by touching the base (no fiddly switches etc) it has 3 levels of brightness all controlled by touch. Last night it stopped working and as I'm no electrician after changing the bulb and fuse have admitted defeat. Tried a while back to buy one for ds's room but no-one seemed to have a clue what I was on about. Anyone heard of them and know where I might get one?

Homebase sell them, as do BHS and B&Q
Both DD and DS have one.

Ours came from John Lewis - and fairly recently: they are absolutely fantastic in children's bedrooms, aren't they. DH says it looks like a lighthouse from outside when you come home as you can see DS fiddling with it and the levels of brightness flashing on and off.

I got dd one recently from homebase. They had a few different designs and dd (2.1) can work it easily. She 'pats' the light to switch it on.
