clips which keep the table cloth on a chunky table?

By christmas.

I've now tried two hardware stores and a big kitchen store with no luck.

I've seen them in restaurants so they must be out there.

have you tried Lakeland?

FairyTaleinNewYork · 20/12/2005 23:16

use bulldog clips

snowleopard · 20/12/2005 23:18

You could try that non-slip under-rug rubbery layer stuff, from Ikea.

Mincepiedermama · 20/12/2005 23:19

I don't knoew where theres a Lakeland but will look into it.
Bulldog clips will be a last resort. They'd stick our at the sides so not ideal, but better than a child pulling off the table cloth containing everyone's christmas dinner and wine.

I could snowleopard, I could indeed. It would necessitate a trip to Ikea with the festive mob but it's an option.

Mincepiedermama · 20/12/2005 23:20

just an afterthought... my mum always always always has a tablecloth on our table at home... and no matter how many kids we had sat round it we have NEVER pulled one off!

it's pretty difficult when it's laden with heavy food

LIZS · 21/12/2005 16:20

Jihn lewis/Waitrose. Independent kitchen store.

Gillian76 · 22/12/2005 22:50

Any joy, Mincepidermama?

MistletAero · 22/12/2005 22:53

Was also going to suggest John Lewis if you have one near you.

This project is on hold until my Ikea trip (
dread emoticon) in the new year.)
I've taken up the rugs to prevent a christmas disaster.
Thanks for the pointers.
Happy christmas.
