Blimey, they are too expensive for me, but if you like them and can afford them....?

Mincepiedermama · 18/12/2005 20:02

I sold my desk for £200 F&Z. I think they're not great value. Lovely, but I can do better.

£40 per chair? Plus up to £120 delivery. How often will you use them?

Personnally, yes they are too expensive.

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 18/12/2005 20:03

They're not that lovely...are they? If you think you could do better, don't impulse buy just because the auction is ending.

merryTissmas · 18/12/2005 20:04

feedback's good and others seem keen to bid that much- depends how much you want them...

are you local, as he's quoting a lot to deliver.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 18/12/2005 20:04

Hmmm... about £33 per chair doesn't seem bad (comparing them to Ikea chair prices! )

Mincepiedermama · 18/12/2005 20:05

I'd have to pick them up. Nope. I've talked myself out of it. Phew! Another £200 saved. Also an argument with DH much less likely.
Thanks F&Z.

Would you have them delivered or pick them up? They're nothing special so not worth any delivery cost on top.

hello spider you could get much cheaper similar in Brighton and delivered.have you time to look?

LadySherlockofLGJ · 18/12/2005 20:06

Spidermama

You are panicking, they are dreadful looking, in fact the patina put me in mind of those catering chairs you get that are sprayed gold at marquee functions.

Mincepiedermama · 18/12/2005 20:09

Phew! The auction is over and I didn't bid.
Noddy I will have time. I was thinking of Brighton Flea market and all the Lewes shops. Do you think that's a good idea?

My ebay table is arriving any minute with my dh who has been to pick it up. We'll have to hoist it in through the kitchen window. So excited.
I need the chairs urgently though. Before Christmas.

Where should I go Noddy?

Do you have an auction house in Brighton Mincepiedermama? (so pleased you changed your name ) Your Yellow Pages should list any local ones.

Second hand furniture prices have plummeted so you would pick up a serious bargain from an auction house - I recently sold 4 Worksop chairs from the 1800's for £120, so thats the kind of bargain you would be getting.
