Hi, what do people think are their top items they used in the first 2 years of being a parent. Ideas on either essentials or really good presents from friends/family would be great. Many thanks :)

Essentials: A really good screwdriver for all those tiny tiny screws in toys. And a huge supply of rechargeable batteries.

I didn't get given either. Got loads of stupid bastard fluffy toys.

Huge box of Hotel Chocolat liqueurs. Two per nighttime breastfeed. :)

Basic bouncy chair, baby gym, nice blanket for them to use later. Set of stacking cups.

Cot mobile and electric rocking swing were invaluable but both came from ILs whose baby hated them!

muslins and bibs (lots and lots of nice bibs for feeding dribbing, teething dribbling, weaning - ds was a big dribbler!)

nice thick socks that dont fall off to keep tiny toes warm

cot mobile with bright colors contrasting with white which keeps baby entertained for 10 mins and lets mum get a shower! (none of the pretty pastel ones as there are not interesting to watch)
