credit card fraud

my card has been fraudulently used to the tune of £1500 in Canada in the past month.

I have not been in Canada.

Will I be liable?

contact the card issuer

contact the card issuer, and tell them you know nothing of these transactions, ask them to stop any further transactions, and issue you with a new card.
They'll probably ask you to write in, and will freeze your card, so you don't have ot pay the fruadulent transactions, till they sort it out.
