I am eager to take my DD swimming (she's 10 weeks tomorrow) and have been looking for disposable swim nappies but cannot find any to fit her.
I brought one of these from Mothercare. It's reusable but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put a nappy on underneath or just use this. Yes, I know I'm being stupid, but there was no instructions or additional info!

No nappy required - just put the swim nappy on. I t won't really contain wee but will contain poo which is the whole point

they might sell disposable swim nappies at the pool

(at ours they insist on a double nappy scenario)

From my past experiance they do NOT contian wee, and hardly contain poo either!

I've taken 3 babies swimming in reusable nappies,(and the 1st one in just normal swimwear for the first few months) and can honestly say I've never noticed anything leaking from them, I thought babies just didn't poo whilst in the pool, but maybe I was just lucky

If baby wees while you are carrying them to pool then you see that they leak!

And babies DO poo in the pool, my little charge did 6 times, and no matter which combination of disposbale and / or reusable nappy we used we NEVER had full contianment and soem quiet bad accidents too even with a nappy!

In the end i found a little swimmers nappy under a all in 1 UV suit the best (tho NOT perfect)

Every single ruddy time I have taken ds to the pool he has done a wee all over me while we are still standing at the lockers trying to stuff all our gear in. I really relish the long slow walk to the pool with a huge wet patch all over my costume (usually at crotch level). Funnily enough I have insisted dp takes him instead lately.
