Anyone got one of these? Ds has learnt to bottom-shuffle while I've been surfing mumsnet. I need to contain him within view so he doesn't wail, or go cold turkey on mumsnet (not an option!) Me that is, not him.

Views of Babydan Babyden pls, esp if you've had more than a few months use out of an expensive bit of kit...

I've got one under my bed which has been used about 5 times

Am going to use it as a fireguard soon so may get some more use.

I wanted one of these but we didn't really have the space. We used a travel cot as a playpen just for a couple of months while both DDs were at that stage. As we had been given the travel cot, it did the job, but saved lots of money (and space!)

I just love the idea of being able to turn it into a playhouse. And being able to pen ds up of course.

I was really pleased with mine - only used it as a playpen but the gate was useful especially for those with back problems (eg grandparents when babysitting). My babies were all happy to go in a playpen for quite a while although not as much as a year. However, as ds3 was stamped on by ds2 when only 2 months old the playpen purchase was essential.

Bogwoppit · 21/10/2003 19:16

have used mine loads.
when ds was little we but his big ring inside so he could sit up
then we have used it without the ring.
we have the play tent which he loves.
we have also used it as a ball pool - with &with out tent bit.

think I'll be really glad of it when no 2 comes along to kepp them out of the way of a boisterous 3yrold!!!

Ah yes had forgotten about the playhouse, must order the bit to go on top. Anyone know the cheapest place to get one?

gingernut · 21/10/2003 20:07

We haven't used ours much - tried it as a playpen but we hardly used it because ds objected so much. Now it's set up as a room divider between our breakfast room (which doubles as a playroom) and kitchen and it's been useful a few times to keep toddlers out of the kitchen while I've been cooking. I suspect playpens are more useful for 2nd babies, to protect them from No. 1! See here for more discussion on playpens in general.

LOL at the well behaved Xmas tree Gingernut. Thanks for finding the link.
