I prefer the pampers/ puppy mats as they are not as sweaty and the pee doesn't run all over the place.

John Lewis sell mattress protectors - like a fitted undersheet. The under side is plasticy and the up side is towelling.

Vertbaudet does the fitted ones. Nice and soft on top and can be boil washed.
