Popped into our posh toy shop today - (In lytham -that's how posh it was) and saw a collection of dolls and accessories called Groovy Dolls.

Now don't mock my naivety if they have been around for years and you all have the full collection but they were the nicest dolls I have ever seen - so much better than those beastly Bratz! But I can't bear to part with it, a friend had to take all sources of cash from me and drag me from the shop as I wanted everything!

DD has quite a collection of these lovely dolls because my mum bid on a big lot of them in a silent auction at a charity event. I love them too. thankfully DS2 loves his groovy boys as well! (although it is hard to find clothes for the boys.

Enjoy playing with her and then give it to your DD for Christmas!

CrystalmasJingleTips · 09/12/2005 19:03

DD has had them for a while - they are great aren't they ?

There's a great car too

twinsetandpearls · 09/12/2005 19:40

I am getting confused as their seem to be different ranges Do they all fit with the accessories?

just had a google for them and this was the first site that came up.

Cadmum · 09/12/2005 19:58

There are smaller plastic ones now. They don't really 'fit' with the larger plush ones... (Is that what you are thinking of?)

ja9 · 09/12/2005 20:05

You can play with them when dds in bed!

I'd never seen them before. They look cool! Not sure about theur names tho'!!

Verity looks like she's got a bit of att-i-tooood!

Cadmum · 09/12/2005 20:06

Thanks LTH... Now I want them ALL...

We just got DS (3 3/4) this for Chritmas so that he can continue to play with DD and I.

Pinotmum · 09/12/2005 20:07

Dd has a few of them and I manged to find some of the accessories in TK Maxx for a fraction of the cost just after last christmas.

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 09/12/2005 20:08

they are loveley, dd got her first one 2 or 3 years ago, she now has some of the mini ones, very cute

Cadmum · 09/12/2005 20:10

I have to agree with Ja9. The newer ones have very trendy names and look like they have more attitude. How sad that this seems to be what sells. DS1 was disgusted with the Canadian doll as she has pink streaks in her hair and a tattoo of a maple leaf on her arm. He declared that it was not representative of our country and not appropriate for children!!! (He was 6 at the time and made quite a scene at the boutique in Mayfair.)

twinsetandpearls · 09/12/2005 21:28

No I don't mean the plastic ones, I don't like them they look a bit like a free gift at Burger King.

On one site they had groovy dolls as on the site listed by Lady Topham and then there was a Manhattan collection and then there were Lilly Dolls. As well as the supersize ones!

They are so gorgeous aren't they twinset, I bought DD one last year but I love it more than she does (she quiiiiite likes it but wd prefer Baby Annabell I fear)
I also love Lilydolls (same range but bigger) but they are £25 which is crazy. Anna is my fave, oh no look she is sold out there!
Deffo a prezzie for mums!

twinsetandpearls · 09/12/2005 21:37

Our shop only had the two dolls I bought, but I may go and check out TK Maxx, I can feel an addiction devloping!

Have now bought another two groovy dollS and a huge collection of outfits. I need to step away from the computer and drop my card!

Wow how cute are they?

I had to just buy Kieran for ds1, how cool is he? The unicorn for me, and a dog for Kieran. Ds1 will just love them, he feels a little left out when dd1 is playing with her dolls!

Thanks
