what is a good cheap digital camcorder

am looking for an easy to use nice and reliable cheapish digital camcorder.
i think my budget is 400 pounds and less. but any suggestions over is also welcome if its exceedingly reliable and good ..but 300 pounds would be ideal.
am i being unrealistic?
help!
