Doll help please

I'm trying to find a really nice doll for my nearly three year old. I've trawled all the usual big toy shops, and a lot of alternative shops in the Brighton area, but can't find anything. I really don't want to go down the "Baby Annabel" route, but am getting desperate. Any ideas please, maybe websites?

Lilydolls are lovely but quite expensive

I like Corolle dolls - you can buy them online, they're very sweet-looking and soft, just the right size, and have a delicate vanilla fragrance.
We've got two and they always get played with the most. They're also machine washable.

We've got Baby Do
This website seems overpriced though. Ebay might be a better bet.

Our DD loves her dolls and the one she keeps going back to is Baby Bethany. She is similar to the Anabel/Chou-chou range. I will look for a link. Amazon
I think that part of the reason may be that she has brown eyes and so does DD. She has had her since she was 3 and has been given many others since (spoiled by long-distance grandparents) and always goes back to playing with her.

I sent my god-daughter a Lily-doll because one of them really looks like her but I don't know if she plays with it often...

I noticed that ELC had a good offer on the other day -they had their version of Annabel/ChouChou with a free set of accessories worth about £20

Thanks for your help. I've found a stockist of corolle dolls not too far away so I think I'll go an have a look. I like the idea of vanilla scented!

Ooh Snowdrop where is that? Wouldn't mind a sniff of one too! In Brighton?

redshoes · 08/12/2005 18:41

Sorry, Snowydelight - duh

snowydelight · 08/12/2005 20:10

Not Brighton unfortunately redshoes. It's 54 High Street in Tunbridge Wells - my MIL lives in Maidstone so it's on our way to visit. There are some great shops in Tunbridge Wells so it's worth the visit.

There are lots of unusual (but expensive!) dolls at Children's Salon .
