Awaiting my kindle in the post this morning, can anyone recommend free or cheap books usually like crime/thriller, comedy or true life type stuff. Going on holiday next week and going to be brave and just take it no real books. Already bought mumsnet rules.

That's ok, I've had mine for 4 months and am still excited Smile

Some of the free books are a bit rubbish, lots of self published stuff. In fact the first book I downloaded was for my Kindle App and was free. It was total rubbish.

Have learnt to be a bit more selective and you do get some good recommendations on here.

Jane Eyre is free and the film is out next month.
White Tiger was good although a little grim.
Bottecelli Secret was a very good tale but not going to win any literary prizes.

If you like crime have you read any of the Wallander books? They are a little more but very good.
