Ideas for 'big present' for 4 yr old DS please ...

I can't believe it but we are truly stumped for his 'big' Santa present. Got a bike last year, has had his birthday not long ago ... has loads of Lego, a ride-on tractor, train set that doesn't need adding too etc. In other words, no shortage of toys .... he goes through toy catalogues and points to everything. I guess my dilemma is that we're thinking of a ride-on tractor or a small folding trampoline for DS2 and if DS1's main present is something that comes in a little box (ie. Tracey Island) then it doesn't look as much. I keep telling myself that at that age, he won't look and think his brother got something bigger/better than him but am I right or wrong? Ideas/suggestions/comments more than welcome . Thanks!

Roller skates? Not big enough maybe. A scooter that lights up?

Keyboard and stool
Pirate ship
Scooter
Fort and soldiers

I dont think at age 4 that he'll be judgemental about the size of the box/gift.
If my DS, also aged 4, is then he's going to have a disappointing christmas.

leappad?

a castle?
a pirate ship?
not sure at that age they compare the size / number of presents really.

Last year ds (then 3.5) got this workbench - nice big box.

This year he is getting Lego airplane, a globe, a make-your-own planet mobile and a pair of walkie talkies (this lot is from various relatives - not all from me & his Dad).

The walkie talkies aren't in a big box & only cost £10 in Argos but he will love them. Would that appeal to your ds?

Thanks for all your ideas ladies ... lots of ideas and food for thought. Unfortunately with both boys having birthdays before Christmas, there are just too many new toys in our house at the moment ... I do feel reassured that others think they will not notice or compare size so think we'll probably lean towards the Thunderbird stuff although I'd also thought about a little toy laptop and yep, Leappad is another idea. He got a fab lego castle for his birtday which we added to for DS2's b-day ... OMG ... I feel a huge pre-Christmas clear-out of toys coming on!

We've got ds1 (4.9) the playmobil pirate ship - that's in a big box!

From money his grandad has sent we got the VTECH learning console that plugs into the TV - not enormous box but big enough to be impressive. It's just under £40 on Amazon with one game included. It looks fab actually!

I'm struggling for extras for ds1 to go alongside his ship.

My DS is also 4. He's having the big garage from ELC (got it reduced a few weeks back) as his big present.

What does your ds want? They usually have a good idea, and I'm not sure he'll be fussed about the size of box as long as it's something he's really set on. My ds - also 4 - has his heart set on a Power Ranger that will cost about a tenner, and a Superman top he saw when I took him into Next. I'm not sure I want to get into the idea of a 'big' present yet; as long as he's happy with something small I'm going to make the most of it!

I have a 4 yr old ds1 and 2 yr old ds2 who have just had birthdays too. Ds1 had a bike for his birthday (we are clearly a bit slow off the mark on these things) and for christmas he is getting a couple of big lego sets (he doesn't yet have any smaller lego). I don't have any problem generating ideas for him though - I've thought about a castle, a big crane, a big playmobil set, something to add to the climbing frame....think a teepee is a great idea too. Last year I bought him a radio flyer pull along trailer which has been quite a hit. Or what about a CD player? hth
