Glider chairs for feeding - should I (finally) succumb and get one?

Baby no 4 on the way. Haven't had one for the first three, mostly because I think they are SO ugly. However... I can see that they are probably v comfy and people rave about them. Any views from people who have them?

Also are the stools necessary or just more ugliness to clutter up the nursery?!

I am trying to wean myself off the eclectic mix of catalogues I receive by the truckload every day.

Today it was one full of hideous 'Aztec inspired' outfits, another full of 'silk' (ie polyester plants and flowers) and (natch) my 60th Boden catalogue of the year.

Fuck off Johnnie!!

NotQuiteCockney · 06/12/2005 22:05

Wouldn't it be nice if, for one day, instead of saying "By Parents for Parents" on the bar up top, it said "Fuck off Johnnie!!!"?

moondog · 06/12/2005 22:09

lol

I crack up at his earnest floppy fringe type voice when you're on hold.

'Look,we're rahlly sorry......'

Reminds me of all the young guns I used to fratenrnise with on boarding school socials at Shrewsbury....

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 06/12/2005 22:11

oh aloha, no. NO! really?

You are a saint. I'd have moved out by now and left poor old dh to it....

For some bizarre reason DH sent off for a Boden catalogue in my name. This should be on the 'what really gets on my t**ts' thread as he does this sort of thing all the time grrrrr

Have not looked at catalogue, hasten to add.

moondog · 06/12/2005 22:14

Trouble is,I'm to square to hurl 'em in the bin with a dismissive 'Pah!!!'

Ooooh nooo! Chez Moondog, plasic is removed and carefully disposed of,then said catalogue put carefully in recycling crate in the garage.

I'm too good,that's my problem.

followthestarlover · 06/12/2005 22:15

i hope you take the staples out moondog!

moondog · 06/12/2005 22:16

I don't

Obviously,I'll have to now. Thanks sl for adding to my insanely long list of Community Minded Actions!!

I'm having a major nesting frenzy atm - has involved entire new lot of bedroom furniture and a new drive (I nest BIG time, we nearly moved house ). After the bedroom's moved round to accommodate said new furniture, we have a lovely space...I thought "Hey, I could put a glider chair in there!" Then I thought..."Er, that's where the baby's crib is going"

Mothercare do a bfeeding chair that looks like a dumpy old lady but is meant to be quite comfy. I'll do a link to it if I remember.

RacersTheRedNosedReindeer · 06/12/2005 22:17

Will they take glossies to be recycled though? I have only had one Boden cat, but I expect it was glossy. Sorry PPPH, I'm sure your mind is made up on the chairs anyway...

NotQuiteCockney · 06/12/2005 22:18

moondog, why not let your kids use the catalogs for collage-making? Or give them to their school or something? Less work.

followthestarlover · 06/12/2005 22:19

yiou're welcome moondog! they don't like staples in the rubbish when it gets to jakarta you know! lol

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 06/12/2005 22:20

ha ha hunker re the drive!!!

I cleaned out the entire larder today, put all the pasta in glass jars, threw out everything that was out of date (vacuum packed chestnuts from 2001, anyone?) and it was only when I was on my hands an knees scrubbing the skirting board at the back of the larder with my head under a shelf (which, by the way, is the only way you can SEE the skirting board) I thought...

"WHAT am I doing? I have never felt the need to do this before. WHY am I not in bed having a nap while ds2 is asleep?"

Clearly nuts.

Oh, and dd doesn't nap, so no sleeping then either. And I've just got back from the GP who has diagnosed croup. Oh joy. I look about 110 years old. I would feel more sorry for her and ds (also ill) if it wasn't such a full time occupation feeling sorry for myself.
I am not surprised you have four PPH. But I would be dead if I had four.
