How to stop rugs slipping.

Right. We've sanded and varnished the floors but now the rugs are really slippy and dangerous. There must be some product out there to stop rugs slipping.
But what and where?

Ikea! They sell special matting. I@m sure other places do too though.

spidermama · 06/12/2005 16:24

Is this something can be cut to size? What's it made of?

Stopp - comes in different sizes.

MistletAero · 06/12/2005 16:25

Any department stoer which sells rugs should have them. We got ours in Allders before they closed!

MistletAero · 06/12/2005 16:25

store!

The one in the link is a rubber mesh but I think they do one now which is like felt but with a rubbery feel to it (feels horrible actually!)

NomDePlumPudding · 06/12/2005 16:26

You can also get little rubbery pads that stick on the underside of the rug and grip the floor

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:26

Paaartrull is the felty one. I have both and I think the felt one works better actually.

serenitysaysHoHoHo · 06/12/2005 16:26

Patrull

Stopp

serenitysaysHoHoHo · 06/12/2005 16:27

bugger, you're all too fast!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:27

I've had the pad style too but I don't find they work so well as the rugs still slip wherever the pads aren't.

I'm probably in Ikea almost as much as you, Serenity My, what a joy the returns department was this morning...!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:30

You've got a fab Christmas name too, Spidermama, if only you'd use it!

serenitysaysHoHoHo · 06/12/2005 16:34

I hate the Ruturns Dept, they accept such cack back from customers.

We had a bedspread back once that was stinky, covered in dog hairs, with some very interesting stains, bluergh!

I never return anything, queues too long and life is far far too short.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:38

A mere 30 minutes this morning - not bad seeing as their computer system was (allegedly) down. I remember thinking I was going to have to give birth in there whilst pregnant with DS1.

Do you think I can return an energy saving lightbulb that I dropped onto the radiator and smashed?

serenitysaysHoHoHo · 06/12/2005 16:44

Probably, but after today could you really be bothered?

Honestly the computer system is very temperamental (that sp looks very wrong...)

spidermama · 06/12/2005 16:45

What dragon what? What's my name. I had some suggestions but I've been suffering from banana brain since the floor sanding trauma began.

OP posts:
DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:45

No, not really, but it did cross my mind as it fell, avoiding anything soft and landing right on the radiator valve. Bah!

Have to say, I've waited longer when the computers were working!!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:46

Mincepiedermama!

Mincepiedermama · 06/12/2005 16:47

Thanks.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 06/12/2005 16:49

You'v been nagged about it on other threads, you know

SheilaL · 08/07/2010 16:57

If anyone is looking for a great product to stop your rug from moving, then you should try Cybergold Rug Control Spray, I bought it from Amazon but I have just seen it in a carpet shop in town, what a fantastic product, try it
