if you don't have a cassette player? I have CD and radio, but I don't seem to have any extra input bits to plug anything into.

Anyone got a setup that works?

IOTAnnenbaum · 06/12/2005 10:00

Epiffany · 06/12/2005 10:01

itrip

hotmulledwinemama · 06/12/2005 10:02

itrips are illegal in GB - because it counts as transmitting so technically you need a broadcasting licence. However, dp still has one and he is a solicitor!

Epiffany · 06/12/2005 10:02

she didn;t ask if it was legal lol just if it works
It does

ENIDeepMidwinter · 06/12/2005 10:24

ta for that link piff

have just bought one off Ebay for dh's christmas present from dd2

MrsMillsletoe · 06/12/2005 10:33

And the other good thing about itrips are that if you have a few radios at home you can have it broadcasting on all your radios!

ladymuck · 06/12/2005 11:11

So near and yet so far...

Thanks for the help. Alas I can't see dh going for it once he realises the (potential)implications.

Bummer - he really is becoming impossibly difficult to buy for.

You can buy a set where you put your ipod in a cradle (like a phone) and the ipod plugs in to your stereo and you control your ipod through the stereo controls. Is that what you meant?

I was going to get dp one for Christmas but it won't fit in his car.

bosscatsroastingonanopenfire · 06/12/2005 11:25

ooh I like the idea of the itrip am going to try it out!

NomDePlumPudding · 06/12/2005 11:25

My iTrip is broken

mogwai · 06/12/2005 13:23

Aother vote for the itrip

My husband has one and it plays in any car travelling within a reasonable distance. When we go out with friends, we can all have access to the entire CD collection while they are driving behind/ in front of us

ENIDeepMidwinter · 06/12/2005 13:24

i think you can get a plug in CD thing from john lewis?

Epiffany · 06/12/2005 15:16

and the all new itower for home use
thats on our list.....

DingdongDizzilyonhigh · 06/12/2005 15:18

My itrip doesn't work - very weak signal! Dh was looking into getting me a new stereo for my car that you can plug the pod straight into, costs about £100 though so now he's stopped looking!!

Skrimble · 07/12/2005 22:51

You can get mini speakers that plug in to the top of the ipod.

Skrimble · 07/12/2005 22:56

Don't look here then .
