Kindle Collections?

I have recently worked out how to do this (sad, I know, but I'm rather impressed with myself!). The thing is, even though a book has been put in a collection 'folder', it still appears out of the folder in my list of books. Is there any way of it not appearing separately? Does this make sense? When I archived the book out of the collection list, it archived the book in the collection too. Very confusing!

hmm, on mine, when I go to a title on the main screen press to the right, go to add to a collection, choose the collection, and then go back to the main page it only appears in the collection, not on the main page too....

Does it say "by most recent first" in the top right hand corner? If so, move the cursor up to highlight that then right click on "collections". You should then have just a list of collections on your home page. Hope that helps!
