Where can I buy brio (or equivalent) joining bits?

Well I've managed to get hold of about £250 worth of brio and ELC wooden track and thomas trains for ds' Christmas 2nd hand for £20.

Better still I've persuaded my parents to buy it for him (thought they were going to be funny about buying him 2nd hand stuff).

But we need a few connector thingys to join track together. Does such a thing exist? Where can I get it?

Tesco do a range of wooden track that is compatible with Brio. You can get things like sections of track (straight or curves) plus turntables, engine sheds - the lot really. V. cheap.

Thanks Witchycat - does anyone know if they sell the wee joiny bits that's fit 2 pieces of track together?

Isn't it the sort of track that has the joining bits built in ? I.e. it's made of wood and has a 'hole' bit in one end and a 'sticky out bit' at the other end?

Ah, hang on, is it the kind where the sticky out bit is a separate plastic bit and those are missing? If that's the case, not sure - never seen them for sale.

calpopscalum · 01/12/2005 19:58

why don't you contact Brio?

MerlinsBeard · 01/12/2005 20:04

ebay?

tassis · 01/12/2005 20:15

no it's the track that has a hole bit on one end and sticky out bit on the other.

what it you want to join a hole to a hole - isn't there a wee joiny bit that you could put in?

tesco and ELC sell bits of track. WE got ds some elc track to just add curves etc as we had a lot of straight pieces.

Witchycat · 01/12/2005 20:36

I understand now. Tesco sell bits that have holes in both ends or sticky out bits in both ends so you can connect a hole to a hole or sticky out bit to sticky out bit.

They might come in boxes with some bits of track too but I'm pretty sure that's where we got ours.

LIZS · 01/12/2005 20:39

Do you mean this sort of piece? . I'd have thought a good stockist would have them .

freyasmum · 01/12/2005 21:59

Yeah, you can buy the same kind of track fron Tesco and ELC, it's all compatible, we have all the different kinds and they all fit together fine and they are good quality, we have lots of the Tesco stuff and had no problems x

tassis · 02/12/2005 17:29

LIZS, that was exactly what I had in mind, thanks!

They even have bits like it on ebay.
