have been thinking about toy kitchen for dd2, has anyone got one of these?

No, but it looks wonderful. DD1 keeps muttering about a toy kitchen but do you think she'll outgrow it soon? Might get one for her birthday and watch the sisterly fighting break out...

Bagpuss30 · 30/11/2005 16:04

No but we have the Berchet one from JL for dd who is 3. She loves it and plays with it most mornings whilst he parents have a lie in .

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:04

I was thinking that dd1 would love it too, and they love doing pretend cooking together anyhow. sigh. it is gorgeous, and we've had smoby stuff before. and obv JL marvellous too.

Oi, bundle, hello!
or how about this

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:05

bagpuss, they should use the parental lie-in as part of the sales pitch.

snufflepuss · 30/11/2005 16:07

Not one of those but I do have an older Smoby model which is in dd's playhouse. The only suggestion I would make is to go for something quite solid (which my Smoby isn't) as when there are a few lo's around it does tend to move about a bit. Theres one on ELC's web site here which has loads of accessories.

Apart from that everyone loves them

Bagpuss30 · 30/11/2005 16:07

lol, just you wait untill they are making you breakfast at 5.30 am.....

If you get one, buy some pretend food from ELC, they do a big box for a tenner. dd and ds1 spend ages playing with that too.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:07

hello bp. oh that's lovely too. and obviously more stylish made of wood. but i do lie the eye-level utensil hanging on the smoby. (have you got that one, btw?)

anyone else?

OP posts:
walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:10

oh we have heaps of pretend food, and I give them ikea plastic bowls/utensils

OP posts:
bakedpotato · 30/11/2005 16:11

Nope, but I have just popped the wooden one in my ELC basket in anticipation of a MN rush
Now I have to stump downstairs to get my cc details
Thanks for sorting out DD's present, wow that was fairly painless

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:12

I wonder if companies realise how much income we generate for them..

OP posts:
walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:14

is there a MN discount?

OP posts:
motherinferior · 30/11/2005 16:18

OK, I'll get it for DD1's birthday, then, which occurs horribly soon after Christmas and for which she wants a party [shudder]

bakedpotato · 30/11/2005 16:21

toy kitchens all round!

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:22

so bp - you're going for the wooden elc one, mi are you smoby? I can't decide now...

OP posts:
motherinferior · 30/11/2005 16:23

I shall wait and then ask both of you how you got on

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:25

marina had one i think, will email her.

OP posts:
bakedpotato · 30/11/2005 16:30

lol @ the elc smallprint:
'Great tip: if bought as a present, assemble it the day before so your child can play with it straight away on the Big Day.'
So that is what we'll be doing every evening in December

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:31

we nearly got divorced trying to put together dd1's bike a couple of christmasses ago. fraught, bloody fraught.

OP posts:
bakedpotato · 30/11/2005 16:34

We had similar heated discussions over a frickin' dolly cradle

What have I done

It's all your fault too WIAWBL

Bozza · 30/11/2005 16:35

We have the ELC one in the loft awaiting DD. Do wonder if your DD1 might be a little old MI. My DD is only 18 months. However I ordered the kitchen online and it has arrived but the "free" accessory kit is out of stock.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 30/11/2005 16:36

oooooh bp, i like my new acronym

OP posts:
welshboris · 01/12/2005 09:53

Bought the ELC sizzling one yesterday online (finally came into stock) but it wouldnt let me use my MN discount code?

Think its because there is a free accessories set with it??

Bozza · 01/12/2005 12:10

Yes wb I found that too. I put in the holly code and got money off some of the things but because the accessory set is classed as an offer you don't get further discount. Very annoying when the accessory set has not turned up.

bakedpotato · 01/12/2005 12:17

oh man, where can I find this discount code?
