Digital Camcorder what should I be looking for?

Nothing fancy needed, noticed there are dvd ones and not dvd ones...whats the difference will one be obsolete in 2 years etc etc etc...

Def get the dvd one. Tapes will be obsolete soon.

So says dh who is pesterign for one!
