Rant about online florists!

My friend is awaiting results of a biopsy from a lump in her breast, obv she is really stressed and worried about this and I wanted to send her some flowers. Placed an order with flowersdirect on mon pm for tuesday delivery. They phoned up at lunchtime yesterday and said they wouldnt be able to deliver because "the florist didnt have the flowers in stock" (what?)
So went to interflora, big company, guarantee same day delivery if placed by 2pm etc.
I phoned just now to check had been sent as hadnt heard, and they have just told me that they had a problem yesterday and flowers have been sent out for today!!!!!
Great-her father in law unexpectedly died last night, today she will have got flowers from me saying "just to make you smile!"
I am so angry .

That is ridiculous- did you complain? When I was in hosp with dd1 my mil sent flowers using interflora. She spent £30 odd and i received a miserable drooping excuse for a bouquet- think it was whatever had been thrown in the bin that day. I phoned up and complained and received a huge fresh bouquet the same day. When my hysband buys me flowers now he goes into the shop to collect the order. That way they can't get away with any rubbish.

Am waiting for them to phone me back as I had asked them to contact driver and see if had been delivered and if not to stop order.
