I have spent literally 5 hours a day for over a week arguing with home insurance company and suppliers about a fridge freezer that needs replacing.... i damaged it trying to defrost it! Have now been cleared to get a new one... anyway.... the point is that if the freezer compartments hadnt continually frosted up, none of this would have happened! can anyone reccommend a fridge freezer that does not require defrosting every few days???!!! please help... having baby in one week!!!! cover up to around £400. thanx

Do you need a combined one?

Most modern ones are self defrosting.

We got a Daewoo frost-free one about 3 years ago and I can't find it on the Currys website (where we got it from) but it's never had any problems and we've never seen a hint of frost in the freezer (apart from on the food where we want it!)

If you need one that quick, just nip down to Currys or Comet. You'll easily be able to find a good frost-free one for under £400 and get it delivered. I assume you're at home now most of the time so waiting all day for delivery men shouldn't be such a hassle.

Just make sure you insist they put it in the kitchen. Our delivery men wanted to leave it in the living room (why?) when the kitchen was just the next room! But I was so p*ed off at this, I made them take it in the kitchen, totally unwrap it for me (so I could check it) and then slide it into the right place! And because of that, they didn't try sticking around for a cup of tea either so all I had to do was sit down with the manual and then plug it in!

Spod, have a look here - Comet's fridge-freezer page. It gives you the option of asking for just frost-free but then all of them aren't, but if you tick the "compare" box in batches of 5 or 6 the details line up and you can see which are and which aren't.

You can do the whole thing on-line and get it delivered within 2 days if it's in stock.

sorry, you can only compare 4 at a time!
