DH is getting me a 3G Kindle for my 40th, and as we are going away I wondered about getting it at Duty Free. The only downside to this is obviously not being able to use it whilst away.

When you get it out of the box is it completely out of charge? Or would there be enough to allow me to quickly download some books at the airport?

I am guessing that the free 3G only applies in the UK, or am I wrong?

I have a mobile type charger I can take away. You can get it from any phone shop but they should have a universal connection kit in airports too.

There is a decent battery life out of the box.
