am in the family room this weekend at family, which means kitchen and bathroom seperate to the rooms, so at night if i want to have a bath/make a cuppa tea then i need a portable baby monitor. i am going to mothercare tomorrow to get the travel cot i also need as dd3 can now escape from the little samsonite one i have, so can anyone recommend a portable monitor which should hopefully be available at stevenage mothercare world (the reason i say mothercare world si because i now have an account there, so it wont hit the finances straight away so to speak)

We had Tomy Walkabout 6 yrs ago for DD -it was excellent then so presumably still excellent.
Don't get the FisherPrice one -we have that now and its cr*p.

go for a basic tomy one - ive got it, and works wonders. Can hear every little whimper from Rebecca. Enjoy xxx

We had the basic Tomy which was great then someone bought us the Tomy digital for second child and we took three back and swapped them because they had stopped working before we gave up and did without a monitor.

thanks. i have the plus in tomy ones and a boots sytem (as the lost the tomy ones for a while but now have found them) but they are plug in units for the parent units. actually i may check the boots ones, they may take batteries.
