looking for new or second hand (1-2 yr old) MPV. Recommendations....?

We are looking to change our car to an MPV. We have two tall children and are looking to replace a family saloon with a people carrier (7 seater).

It will be used for school runs and summer holidays driving around Europe. Does not need to be 7 seater for adults but at least space for 2 kids and 2 friends in the back.

We have looked at Touran (and read thread here) but wondered about other possibilities.

What do people recommend?

Thanks

Citroen C4 Picasso
Ford S-Max
VW Touran
Toyota Verso
Ford Grand C-Max

It's worth checking euro ncap, some cars get quite low results.

thanks for replies.

If you own any of the above what do you think of it?

I have a Mazda 5.

It's a 6 seater but also has a small 7th seat.

The boot is massive when used as a 5 seater and the sliding doors are brilliant with kids. It's lovely and spacious without feelings like a minibus

Ford Galaxy 1.8 TDCI 59 reg, DH found it on the internet for £10.500 as the mileage was high due to it being ex-lease. It is lovely to drive, we drove to France, fully loaded with our tent, top box with half the house in it (!) bikes on back and 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child) and it did 47 to the gallon.

The seating is flexible, when you don't need the rear-most seats they fold down flat in the back as do the second row ones.

I would definately reccommend one.
