Those chimney ones. Do they come in bits? I don't want the vertical bit, just the horizontal extractor bit. Have seen one from IKEA which is the diddy dimensions I need but don't want the funnelly up bit.

Thank you.

Please. I know lots of you have these things.

Don't you need the "funnelly up bit" for the steam/smells to be extracted through though?

Tinker · 22/11/2005 21:24

No, don't think so. It'll be recirculation, not extraction.

It will have a function without the chimney bit (connected to a hole in the wall)... it will collect grease and dust in ever mounting layers, just like mine (well, until DP actually gets round to getting the drill bit to go through the wall at least)

We have one that reciculates the air. We do have the funnel part in place up to the ceiling but it did come in pieces. If you don't put the funnel on though, you will have a big hole on top!

If you just want to recirculate (not duct the air to outside) do you have to buy a special type? Or just not make the hole in the wall?

Tinker · 22/11/2005 21:46

not on external wall so needs to recirculate. more for cosmetic ie house selling reasons. have managed without for 12 years just needs to be slinline and ikea do a slimline one
