OK this is what I want - not a modern version of the same - but this is the only place I can find it and it is not in stock. Can anyone else find it anywhere else for me? I am not keen on using ebay (sorry all ebay regulars).

Sorry i have hunted High and low and can only find a simpsons version. You might have to go for e.bay loads on there. If you pay into their paypal account they never see your card details, so they can't get anymore than you bid. The worst that can happen is that they don't send anything and you lose a few pounds. there are actually very few problems.

You could try phoning a few Toysrus stores to see if they have it in.

Lonelymum · 19/11/2005 19:28

Thanks for looking anyway. It is a bit reassuring to know they you had the same result as me. I could only find Homer Simpson ones too and "real" ones on ebay. At least I know I searched properly and am not missing something obvious.

If toys rus have it on their website then good chance they would have it instore.

julen · 19/11/2005 19:51

Hi lonelymum,
I was looking for them as well - found something a bit more elaborate but on the same principle at the Early Learning Centre, here .
They call them scribblers..

(and thanks for the tops! They arrived today, and dd was over the moon...)

Mercy · 19/11/2005 20:24

I used to have one of those - loved it.

Does toysrus us have an "e-mail me when in stock" facility?

lunavix · 19/11/2005 20:44

They have a basic one in tescos - and it's less than £4! Full size!

Lonelymum · 19/11/2005 21:01

I know about the scribblers and have a couple already! (or something similar anyway). I really want the etch a sketch as it works on a different principle: instead of drawing by pressing on the pad, you turn knobs to go up and down or across.

I can't see any way of getting the toysrus website to notify me when they come in, or give an indication of how long I would have to wait.

Julen, glad dd liked the tops!

try their contact form you never know you might get an answer, perhaps they can let you know if they are instore.

Paperchase concession in our local Borders bookshop have mini ones on pens. I know it's not exactly what you want but they must be out there if they make little ones. You could try them or Toysrus for manufacturer.

Skribble · 20/11/2005 21:21

I have seen the pen ones on line too, wasn't sure if they would do.

Jbck · 20/11/2005 22:04

I can't see delivery destinations but try here

Lonelymum · 21/11/2005 12:10

They wouldn't accept me!

Going to keep badgering ToysRUs.

Oh pooh! No one in the States could order it for you & ship it over, if you're that desperate to have the real thing?

Lonelymum · 22/11/2005 08:54

No dond't know anyone there, but I am not that desperate. I would like to buy it for one of my children one day, and time is running out for my eldest, but my youngest is still only 2, so I might have to try again next year!
