we don't buy each other gifts, just the kids.

nutcracker · 18/11/2005 08:09

I have got him a dvd so far and plan to get him a dvd player and possibly a new tv for our room.

It's a pressie for both of us really though, cos we'll both use it.

fairydust · 18/11/2005 08:10

erm i need to speak to you nutty today

i've bought dp tickets to see lee evans and some issay miyake (if thats how you spell it!)

NomDePlume · 18/11/2005 09:22

We buy something small for us to unwrap on the day and then something big for the house.

DH has got 2 tickets to see Al Murray's new stand up tour and he'll get something from the kids, not sure yet. This year's 'big present is a flat panel TV for our bedroom

I'm hoping for a pair of cashmere lined leather gloves from him, I just need to subtly point him in their direction

compo · 18/11/2005 09:24

I've bought dh a dressing gown, a transformer (don't ask), a My Dad mug and the Anthony Browne My Dad mug from ds (£5 pack from Waterstones), and i think that's it. Already wrapped up and hidden as otherwise he'd come across them!!

Zephyrcat · 18/11/2005 09:28

I'm really stuck for ideas. I keep hinting at things to see what his reaction is but he seems totally uninterested in anything and everything!! I thought about an MP3 player but doubt he'd use it. I showed him some days out rally driving etc but he just started going on about a new motorola phone!

Why are they so awkward to buy for??!

Hulababy · 18/11/2005 09:29

Not sure yet. Only thing he has mentioned is a 3 wood golf club. I just have no idea oabout them though so looks like a trip to a golf club shop and asking for advice - which will no doubt mean me spending a fortune! They will see me coming!

NomDePlume · 18/11/2005 09:30

lol Hula ! So true....

a electronic poker system the plan is that i read i book i have on poker become very wise (with not much actual playing experience) suprise him (and everyone else ) by playing for money and clearing the table with a smug smile

this may only work well if i borrow my initial stake off him to so that i stand to lose nothing anyway !!

superblastofflips · 18/11/2005 09:37

i only buy one thing and i leave the rest when the sale starts..

My Dp wants a new fishing rod as he used to have 2 but now got 1.... and also a remote car too

SeaShells · 18/11/2005 09:40

serenity · 18/11/2005 09:47

MP3 player.

fruitful · 18/11/2005 10:24

Helicopter flying lesson (cost £40 of tesco vouchers)
Darth Tater (Mr Potato Head with darth vader attachments ).

surfermum · 18/11/2005 10:33

My dh, the proud owner of a Darth Vader outfit, would love the Darth Tater!

He's getting a basket with a variety of bottles of cider, some nuts, kettle chips and probably a DVD. He's replacing his camera too, but he choosing that.

compo · 18/11/2005 10:47

surfermum - basket with a variety of bottles of cider, some nuts, kettle chips sounds like my ideal present!!

hornbag · 18/11/2005 11:30

We're buying token presents for each other (less than £20) to open on Xmas day as we're buying a flat screen TV as main present for each other.

hockeymum · 18/11/2005 11:37

We've set a budget of £25 from each other and £10 from dd to each other. I've got him tickets to see Foo Fighters next month (I was going as well but am pregnant now and dont fancy the squash so he is going with work colleague so thats £25 back for me to spend on ME). DD has got him that Top Gear bloke Richard Hammonds "What not to Drive book" Yawn, but will keep him occupied.

sweetkitty · 18/11/2005 11:58

PS2
PS2 Star Wars game
Trivial Pursuit Star Wars Game (only Trivial Pursuit he will beat me at )
Star Wars Annual (can you see a theme here?)
New top/jumper whatever I see for him

He would love the Darth Tater! Will have to keep a look out.

We also buy each other an "adult" gift used to open on Christmas day but think it will be Christmas Eve now.

motherinferior · 18/11/2005 12:05

A massage. Got him one for his birthday and he loved it, and I know he'd love another. Am planning on making this a no-brainer habit, tbh; he's not big on presents and this is a very nice one to give him.

surfermum · 18/11/2005 15:23

Hey compo - write a letter to Santa, you never know!

Lio · 18/11/2005 15:32
