Leapster L-Max or VTech V. Smile Pocket?

Any advice on which one I should buy for a 4 year old boy? I can't make my mind up as they both have good reviews.

ds1 got a leapster for his 5th birthday and he loves it. Can't comment on the vtech but would recommend the leapster - educational without that being the main theme.

Thanks eefs. Noticed that there does not seem to be many titles for it, is that the case? Does your son use the pen with it?
