Boring... but need a new iron

Need a new iron as old trusty Philips one is getting temperamental and is very erratic when heating up.

Anything recommendations?

Only specs are it needs to be a steam iron and would be nice if it self-ironed

get a steam generator iron, they're so much faster than conventional steam irons - it can almost halve your ironing time, and you can do nice things like steam stuff that's on a hanger - ruffled skirts etc which are a nightmare to iron flat.
The 'Domotec Steam Generator' was the best budget buy in a recent review somewhere (how sad am I - I tore it out to keep in case mine packs up after 5 years of use). It's around £80.
They do tend to cost a lot more than a standard steam iron, but think of all the time you'll save.

Just googled the Domotec - it looks a little big (and a little pricey!). Don't have separate utility room so would need an iron that I could put away when we have visitors.

I've got an 'ultraglide' Its great (as far as irons go!!!) it just glides over the clothes. Top tip. Buy from Argos, then if you don't like it, take it back no probs.
