4WD Carr Biscuits

Since the factory got flooded in January the biscuits taste like Kack.
This may seem trivial but our family often used to munch a whole box with cheese and butter..

They advertise on the box that the Carr family have been baking biscuits since 17something.. can not see that they will be able to carry on for much longer unless they dry out the old recipe!

Read the Carrs family history because I liked the biscuits so much..how sad am I?

(very interesting actually, The factory was the first automated biscuit factory in the world (built on a swamp-we now know this was a big mistake!) No fat used so would last FOREVER. Could get one anywhere in the Empire. Big social reformer. Lapsed quaker... bla bla

plus the Carr family flogged the business to McVities in the 70s

IKWYM Anteater - our family were also great fans. Dh considers himself to be a Carrs connoisseur

He says that the recent lot are an improvement on the first batch that were produced after the flood ... maybe they will continue to improve?

Why not write to them and ask them what's going on?

Janh · 17/11/2005 23:23

I still don't get the 4WD. Somebody pls explain.

GUILTYandASHAMED · 17/11/2005 23:24

bet the factory is damp, making the bicuits soggy.

Anteater · 17/11/2005 23:32

No need to write a we have discovered Rakusens Matzos biscuits taste like the Carrs ones used to!

Not sure McViteys would be very interested anyway.

4WD Carrs as in 4WD Car, just trying to be topical Jan.. !
