Britax Freeway - anyone have lap belt fitting instructions?

Wondered if any mumsnetters could help.

I have managed to borrow a friend's Britax Freeway car seat for a coach trip I am going on on Thursday. It can be fitted using just a lap belt according to all the info I have about it but friend doesn't have the instructions. Unfortuantely I also don't have a lap belt in my car to try with either.

Does anyone out there have this seat or similar? If so, do you have the fitting instructions for lap belt only fitting?

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

You have to put the lap belt though the back as usual and just click into place. Make sure its in tightly

Thanks for that quick response! Sounds easy - is that it? Is there a special place on the seat for the belt to fasten into or, or does it just go through the back? I will get DH to go to the car and bring the car seat up I think - might be easier than visualising a seat I have only just picked up.

There is a lip that the belt goes under, make sure it goes under it and click!! They are very easy to get in, we have one for the middle seat for DD

Just double-checked our instruction booklet and Mieow describes it well. There is a sort of overhung piece on either side which guides the lap belt through whichever way you use. Just make sure you fasten it really tightly and the buckle of the coach belt doesn't rest on the seat itself. There is probably a diagram on the side of the seat which will help you.

Just brought the seat up and had a good look. I have found the lip you mentioned so know what to put the belt under. There is a little diagram too so hould be okay. Does seem very simple to do I have to say.

We are used to using an ISOFIX car seat so not used to using the seat belts at all.

Thanks for the help. DD can now enjoy her first trip to Alton Towers with all my school kids !!!

Glad you got it sorted CnR - bet DD will be over the moon at all those other kids to look at!

Thanks! At 18 months she is no coward either so she will no doubt be trying out some of the rides. Wonder if I can get some of the year 10 and 12s to go on with her!
